Michael Ireland

Michael Ireland is a devoted music educator and accomplished violist who has served the Philadelphia community for more than two decades. Since 1999, he has taught strings—violin, viola, cello, and bass—across multiple schools in the School District of Philadelphia, inspiring students through his passion for music and his commitment to arts education.

Michael holds advanced degrees in Viola Performance from Boston University, as well as a Master’s in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. His professional background includes teaching positions at the Clef Club of Jazz and the Performing Arts and the Holy Trinity Music School, where he coached chamber ensembles and provided private instruction.

In addition to his work in education, Michael is an active performer and a longtime member of the ensemble Urban Classique. His musicianship, leadership, and dedication to nurturing young artists continue to enrich both the classroom and the wider Philadelphia music community.
